Install or Uninstall Raskin

Install Raskin

After downloading Raskin, you can run the application straight away, without the need to first run an installer. We recommend moving Raskin to your Applications folder.

The first time Raskin is started, it will scan your file system to determine which files should initially be displayed and how they should be arranged on the Raskin Surface. This will take a few minutes, but is only done once on the first run.

    Uninstall Raskin

If you no longer wish to use Raskin, no uninstall is necessary. You can remove Raskin simply by moving Raskin.app to the trash.

In order to remove the Raskin Places item from the Finder sidebar, just press and hold the Command (⌘) key, drag the item from the Finder sidebar and release it.

You can remove the Raskin Services menu and keyboard shortcuts in two ways:

      • Go to System Preferences, choose Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Services > General and uncheck the Raskin Service.

      • Or: Move Raskin to the Trash and empty the Trash. The Raskin Services menu and keyboard shortcuts will be removed the next time you log in.

For full transparency, here is a list of all files associated with Raskin. It is not necessary to remove all of these files, but if you like to keep a clean house, you can do so by removing the following:

      /Applications/Raskin.app
      /Users/username/Library/Preferences/com.raskinformac.Raskin.plist
      /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Raskin
      /Users/username/Library/Logs/Raskin
